(Today's teaching takes place after the Our Father and before the Sign of Peace)
What have we learned so far? God tells us in his Scriptures that He loves us and will take care of us. God asks us to give him our Minds. Then at the offertory, God invites us to give him our Stuff. During the Eucharistic Prayer God asks for our Hearts. Now at this part of Mass, God actually comes into our bodies so that He can have Communion with us. What a wonderful gift - union with Jesus!
Now that we have learned all these wonderful things, who will tell the rest of the world? Who will bring them the good news? We will! Jesus sends us out to the World to tell everyone that God loves us and he will take care of us. We bring the news to our families, our schools, our work - to the whole world! That sounds like a big job but we can do it because we have union with Jesus. He is always with us; we are never alone. When people see you, they should see Jesus in you. That's what Communion means. Go live the Gospel of the Lord. (3 Mar 2013)
