The Ascension of the Lord (C) Three thoughts about the Ascension. First, Jesus didn't go as far away as we think. It's as though he walked up a few steps and sat down in the heavenly sanctuary. Second, his mission isn't over. Like Elijah passing on his spirit to Elisha, Jesus prepares to share his spirit with the Apostles. Third, we are all called to be little Christs, Christ-ians. You have been given the same Spirit that rested on Jesus. You have been called to the same mission as Jesus. If the world hasn't been transformed yet, that's on us. Every parish is called to be a family missions company. Come Holy Spirit!
